Discipleship Classes at Cliff Temple

Our discipleship classes are designed to meet specific spiritual needs. We pray these studies will give you an opportunity to make a connection with others and we pray these will deepen your relationship with Christ. All of these classes will resume meeting on August 30, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.  If you have questions regarding these, please contact Brent McDougal, Senior pastor, at or (214) 942-8601.

6 Weeks to a Deeper, Daily Walk with God

Led by Kristi Coleman
Room # 116

Finding a rhythm of spending time with God is essential to the life of faith. If you long for a richer relationship with Christ and to begin a regular time of prayer, Biblical study, and reflection in your weekly flow of life, then this series is for you. The course will utilize Biblical teaching on prayer and fellowship with God while also encouraging learners to find the rhythm of daily fellowship with God that fits their life.

We Are Family: The Extended Family on Mission

Especially for teachers, directors and small group leaders.
Led by Brad Schwall, Executive Director of Pastoral Counseling Center, and other colleagues
Room # 229

What does it mean to be and extended family on mission together? How can we live fully as an extended family called to a purpose? What are the practices that make for a healthy family? This series will help our teachers and group leaders to be more equipped as disciplemakers for their group members. Weekly topics include emotional intelligence (how self-awareness and social awareness can enhance relationships), seeing your group as a system, active listening, and healthy communication.

Radical Discipleship

Led by Warren Hatley
Room # 227

This series will teach everyday discipleship by looking at the teachings of Jesus and making application to living. Topics each week will include personal evangelism, scripture memory, storying, and current events of the wider Christian world (international missions, disciple making movements, church planting, Zume). One definite focus will be for participants to share their testimony and go out to participate in street or parking lot evangelism hands-on experience. If you're looking for training that will help you more effectively share your faith and make disciples of others, this series is for you.

One True God (Spanish study)

Led by Freddy Soto and Federico Alvarez
Reception Room

One True God is a unique kind of workbook that teaches truth and leads to an encounter with the living God. This study aims to ground believers in Orthodox Christian theology and the actual contents of the Bible. Students are encouraged to thoughtfully draw conclusions from the Scriptures rather than to merely absorb the principles, inferences, and illustrations set before them by the author. Students will be guided throughout the study to apply the truths they learn and meditate on the demands of Scripture for their heart and mind.

The Hero’s Journey:
Discover and Live Your Calling

Led by Mark Thames and Brent McDougal
Fellowship Hall

Many people in churches have a sincere love of God and a desire that their lives would be lived for Christ. But they often feel like there is more to experience in the life of God and just can’t get there. They ask, “What is my calling? What is the place of deep  fulfilment and purpose?” Each of us has a calling and a journey to walk out. This series will use what’s known as “The Hero’s Journey” as a model to talk about calling and how God gifts each person, moving through the sequence of quest, ordeal and return. It will incorporate Biblical study, especially from the giftings found in Ephesians 4, plus film clips from epic movies like “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Chronicles of Narnia”.
