![]() Passages by Glen Schmucker, Pastor Little HopeThe little sign that points down the little country road just off the highway directs travelers to the “Little Hope Baptist Church.” Maybe it’s reading too much into the name. It just seems that church should be the place where hope is spoken of as big, not little. Certainly there’s more to that name than meets the eye. Jesus used a mustard seed, two little words, to define faith’s significance, not in terms of its size, but in terms of its mere existence. Faith that is at all is all the faith you need, to “move mountains,” He said. Not that Jesus is interested in us re-arranging His real estate, just in using a really big idea to point out the power of – just a little. Surely, hopefully, the people of “Little Hope” know of a God who takes note, not only of the whole flock, but of the one sparrow that falls. A God who has taught them, through thick and thin, that, when it comes to faith and hope, if you have it at all, you have it all. All you need is just a little.
