As you know, Hurricane Harvey left a devastating scene in much of the Houston area.  While many individuals and teams helped with the initial needs in Houston, volunteers are still needed.  Over Memorial Day weekend, Cliff Temple Baptist Church will head down to Houston to work on Garden Villa Baptist Church, in an effort to speed up their recovery process.  This is one of the churches that we sent recovery funds to back in the Fall.  This trip is open to middle school students through senior adults.  To make this a truly affordable trip, we’ll be riding down to Houston in 12 passenger vans and sleeping at South Main Baptist Church each night.  We’ll plan to provide breakfast and snacks throughout the day and will rely on mainly fast food or church provided meals.  As we learn more about the tasks we’ll be doing at the church, we’ll make you aware of some helpful supplies to bring.  We’ll most likely be doing light construction work and tasks such as painting and cleaning.

I hope you plan to join us on this trip!  We should be able to help Garden Villas Baptist Church greatly in their process of getting their building back together after the storm.  In order to go on this trip, download, fill out and return the forms.  There are two sets of forms, one for under 18 and one for 18 and older.  If you need a paper copy of the forms, please pick them up from the receptionist desk.  Paperwork and $50 participant fee are due by May 14th.  Please e-mail completed paperwork to Jon@clifftemple.org or leave them with the receptionist on duty at the church.
